Editing basics

Type your changes

You can just type your text. However, also using basic wiki markup (described in the next section) to make links and do simple formatting adds to the value of your contribution.

Start editing

To start editing a wiki page, click the Edit link on the right side or the top of the page. This brings you to the edit page: a page with a text box containing the wikitext - the editable code from which the server produces the finished page. If you just want to experiment, please do so in the sandbox, not here.

Summarize your changes

Write a short edit summary in the small field below the edit-box.

Preview before saving

When you have finished, click Show preview to see how your changes will look before you make them permanent. Repeat the edit/preview process until you are satisfied, then click Save page and your changes will be immediately applied to the article.

Cite References

Just like any scientific review articles, it is important to provide relevant references to make your statements credible. Interested readers could further read those references to learn more about the subject. Here is the instruction on how to include references and make PubMed links.

  • To make a PubMed link, first you need to go to PubMed website and retrieve the ID for the record. Then follow this format {{PubMed |id=specific id}}.
  • To list all references at the bottom of the page, you need to put your citation in a pair of tags <ref>reference</ref>. Then at the bottom of the page include the <references/> tags. Click here to learn more on how to cite the same reference multiple times in one page.
